About the show :

Kári Björn’s exhibition is divided into three mostly unrelated parts. A documentary project, a series on truth and lies in photography, and a mishmash of pictures from the past five years in New York.

In Brautarholt, Björn is showing Synergy. A collection of short stories with an overarching theme of lies within the medium. Three 33x48cm archival pigment prints along with a zine.

On the walls of Kárastígur, Björn shows five years worth of street photography in New York and his transition into focusing on more and more on the details in the street. Eleven high gloss archival pigment prints and ten small dye transfer prints.

Ásmundarsalur features Björn’s thesis project from Parsons School of Design, Maria. It shows the aftermath of hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Initially self-published as a two part zine and exhibited at the Aperture Foundation in New York in May 2018. Two framed 60x90cm digital c-prints along with eight 33x48cm archival pigment prints.
